SUPPORTERS TRUST: LATEST
(March 09, 2010)The request by Phil Morris, farsleyceltic.net 's coordinator to register an interest in the formation of a Supporters Trust has been suspended this evening following receipt of the latest news from Throstle Nest.
Farsleyceltic.net has learnt this evening that whilst Administrators Mazars have brought an end to the Interim Football Arrangement allowing the Palmer-Farrell consortium to run the club in the short term, resulting in the near certain expulsion from the Football Conference, the Administrator will continue to allow the club to run until such time as a buyer is found for the land. In the circumstances it is anticipated that the Junior teams will continue to play and train as normal, the clubhouse will remain open and the ground used to host Carneghie games.
And with the belief that the Palmer-Farrell consortium intend to bid for the land, plans have begun to ensure that a Farsley Celtic team be able to play next season, with the Unibond First Division appearing as a possible destination.
Coordinator of the website, Phil Morris, said this evening:
" I have received well over one hundred names indicating an interest in being a member of a formal Supporters Trust, and have been in touch with Supporters Direct this afternoon to discuss the way forward. I think it is clear that there is sufficient interest and I shall be discussing with John Palmer and John Farrell how a Supporters Trust, properly constituted, could feature in any acquisition of land and reforming of the team.
I have been very pleased to receive such strong support, with many people clearly indicating a willingness to become involved, but for the moment I do not think there is a need for further interest to be declared "
