BACK THE PALMER BID
(March 20, 2010)As seen in Friday's Yorkshire Evening Post, the Farsley Celtic Supporters' Club have formally resolved to back the Palmer bid to purchase Throstle Nest from Administrators Mazars.
Launching www.backthepalmerbid.com on Saturday, spokesman Phil Morris confirmed that the Supporters' Club unanimously agreed to throw their weight behind the Palmer bid when meeting at The Butchers Arms in Pudsey on Wednesday.
" We are asking those who wish to see Farsley Celtic re-emerge simply to register their support. We feel that if there is a strong enough sense of public opinion behind John Palmer and his consortium that it might dissuade any other interested party to make a bid for the land. The last thing we wish to see is a bidding war break out as this will serve only to escalate Administrators Mazars fees. Nobody will benefit from this. Except them, of course" explained Morris.
" The Palmer consortium is the only one to have come forward to say that they wish to purchase the land and have made it abundantly clear that they wish to see football of all levels continued to be played at Throstle Nest. "
