Farsley AFC extended their impressive winning run to three West Riding County Women’s League First Division game to rocket themselves off the foot of the table following a comfortable victory over Castleford White Rose at Throstle Nest.
With Northowram and Republica losing, Farsley climbed to seventh and overtaking sixth-placed Hebden Royd is next on the agenda.
Farsley were straight out of the blocks from kick-off and gained the lead after only 90 seconds.
Mille West struck her fifth goal of the campaign with a spectacular long range strike which flew like an express train into the back of the net.
Castleford came back into the match and did deserve an equaliser on 17 minutes, but Farsley were not to be denied.
Chloe Wainwright is claiming the second goal on the half-hour mark, but manager Rob Womersley might have to refer the strike to the dubious goals panel.
Wainwright’s corner from the left-side somehow found its way into the bottom corner and may have taken a slight deflection on its way.
Farsley continued to press for a third goal and had to wait until nine minutes into the second half.
From a good pass from Kerry McLoughlin, Courtney Teale kept her composure to coolly score her first Farsley goal on her league debut from 12 yards.
The goal gave Farsley a nice two-goal buffer and Castleford failed to threaten again.
In the closing stages, record goalscorer Kerry McLoughlin added the gloss with a superb 20-yard strike which sailed into the top corner.
Farsley AFC: Michelle James, Emily Dawson, Beccy Singer (Abi Morgan 64), Lottie Marriner, Sarah Firth, Courtney Teale (Ruth Morris 61), Millie West, Kath Raw (captain), Chloe Wainwright (Hayley Hare 60), Kerry McLoughlin, Sarah Carter.
